<p class="C1">&#65279GOP&#298, BH&#256&#298, a Bh&#257rdv&#257j Br&#257hma&#7751, received initiation at the hands of Gur&#363 Arjan. Once he, accompanied by Bh&#257&#299 Ves&#257 and Bh&#257&#299 Tuls&#299&#257, also Bh&#257rdv&#257j Br&#257hma&#7751s, and Bh&#257&#299 Bh&#299a&#7771&#257, who had been initiated along with him, waited upon the Gur&#363. They were confused by the diverse incarnations in which God was worshipped. The Gur&#363 said, "All forms and attributes are God's, yet He transcends them. You should, therefore, worship only the Absolute One. At the same time you must abjure rancour towards those who have a different way of worship." Bh&#257&#299 Gop&#299 and his companions, says Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, took the Gur&#363's precept and were blessed (<i>V&#257r&#257&#7749</i>, XI. 20) .</p>
