He was the son of Bh&#257&#299 Jai Dev and M&#257&#299 Subhadr&#257. Guided by a N&#257naksh&#257h&#299 (Sikh) <i>s&#257dh&#363</i>, he came to the Punjab in 1596 and received instruction from Gur&#363 Arjan at Kart&#257rpur. During the time of Gur&#363 Hargobind, he attached himself to the service of B&#257b&#257 Gurditt&#257, the eldest son of the Gur&#363 and head of the Ud&#257s&#299 sect. On 11 September 1637, he was ordained head of a <i>dh&#363&#257&#7749</i>. Making K&#299ratpur and, later, Phillaur as the headquarters of his branch, Bh&#257&#299 Goind preached mostly in the Do&#257b&#257, country between the Rivers Sutlej and Be&#257s. He died on 15 September 1649 at Phillaur where a <i>sam&#257dh</i> or mausoleum was constructed in his honour.
