<p class="C1">&#65279GA&#7748G&#256 R&#256M was one of the five sons of Bh&#257&#299 S&#257dh&#363 and B&#299b&#299 V&#299ro, the daughter of Gur&#363 Hargobind, who formed part of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh's retinue at P&#257o&#7751&#7789&#257, in present-day Him&#257chal Pradesh, when he was attacked by a combined force of some of the hill chiefs headed by R&#257j&#257 Fateh Sh&#257h of Ga&#7771hv&#257l. Ga&#7749g&#257 R&#257m, along with his brothers, fought in the battle that took place at Bha&#7749g&#257&#7751&#299, not far from P&#257o&#7751&#7789&#257, on 18 September 1688. He survived the action in which two of the brothers, Sa&#7749gr&#257m Sh&#257h and J&#299t Mall, were killed.</p>
