The nuptial ceremonies took place at her village on 19 June 1589. She was the mother of Gur&#363 Hargobind born to her at Va&#7693&#257l&#299, near Amritsar, on 19 June 1595. She died at Bak&#257l&#257 (now B&#257b&#257 Bak&#257l&#257) on 14 May 1621. Her dead body was immersed in the River Be&#257s in deference to her wish that her body be consigned to water, as had been her husband's, and not burnt. However, a symbolic cremation was also carried out and a sam&#257dh built at Bak&#257l&#257, which has since been replaced by a shrine named Gurdw&#257r&#257 M&#257t&#257 Ga&#7749g&#257.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Gurbil&#257s P&#257tsh&#257h&#299 Chhev&#299&#7749. Patiala, 1970

Satib&#299r Si&#7749gh, Paratakhu Hari.
