Gur&#363 Har R&#257i was his guest, when the Mu<u>gh</u>al prince, D&#257r&#257 Shukoh, defeated in the battle of S&#257m&#363ga&#7771h crossed the River Be&#257s and called on him in June 1658. In 1664, when, after the death of Gur&#363 Har Krishan at Delhi, M&#257t&#257 Bass&#299, grandmother of the deceased Gur&#363, came to Bak&#257l&#257 with tokens of succession to be bestowed on Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur, she sent for B&#257b&#257 Dv&#257rk&#257 D&#257s to be present at the ceremony which took place on 11 August 1664.
