Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh halted here awhile under a <i>phal&#257h&#299</i> tree, while travelling from &#256lamg&#299r to Jodh&#257&#7749 at the close of 1705. An imposing new <i>gurdw&#257r&#257</i> building, a large rectangular hall, has been completed recently. There is a basement below the <i>prak&#257sh asth&#257n</i> representing the site of the original building, and above it is a room topped by a high-domed pavilion. Four more double-storeyed domed pavilions surround the central pavilion. At each corner of the large hall is a 4-storeyed domed tower, octagonal in shape. For the pilgrims' ablutions, Dasmesh Gh&#257&#7789 was constructed in 1967 in commemoration of the 300th birth anniversary of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh. Similarly, a dining hall with a verandah in front was added to the Gur&#363 k&#257 La&#7749gar building in 1969 while celebrating the 500th birth anniversary of Gur&#363 N&#257nak.
