He gave shelter in his <i>&#7693er&#257</i> at Pa&#7751&#7693or&#299 to some Sikh women and children when the Sikhs were being hounded out in 1817 Bk /AD 1760 by the joint forces of the <i>s&#363bahs</i> of Sirhind, Mult&#257n and Lahore under the orders of Ahmad Sh&#257h. A Nirañjan&#299&#257 informed the Mu<u>gh</u>al scouts, who searched the <i>&#7693er&#257</i>. As no Sikhs were apprehended inside the <i>&#7693er&#257</i>, Dudd&#363&#7749 R&#257m and his disciples were tortured, but they gave out nothing. The informer thought that the Sikh women and children had taken refuge in the adjoining sugarcane fields. As the Sikhs were captured, Dudd&#363&#7749 R&#257m and some others went to Momin <u>Kh</u>&#257n, the Mu<u>gh</u>al chief, to request him to intercede on their behalf, but to no avail.
