Dharam Si&#7749gh assisted Bh&#257&#299 Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh by mobilizing help for him in the Do&#257b&#257 region during the latter half of 1849. He especially introduced two artillerymen of Kap&#363rthal&#257 to Bh&#257&#299 Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh, in Hoshi&#257rpur area. He was arrested along with Mah&#257r&#257j Si&#7749gh on the night of 28-29 December 1849, but managed to escape.
