He was killed in a campaign in the northwest. His son, Dhann&#257 Si&#7749gh, left Mau&#7771 in 1793 and took up service with S&#257hib Si&#7749gh Bha&#7749g&#299 of Gujr&#257t. About the year 1800, he enlisted himself in the force of Fateh Si&#7749gh K&#257li&#257&#7749v&#257l&#257 as a trooper, and soon rose in his favour, obtaining an independent command. He fought in the K&#257li&#257&#7749v&#257l&#257 contingent in Pi&#7751&#7693&#299 Bha&#7789&#7789&#299&#257n&#775 and Kas&#363r campaigns. There were few sard&#257rs whose influence was greater or whose advice was better regarded. He was sent on some political embassies and was a member of the mission which called on Lord William Bentinck at Shiml&#257 in April 1832. He was granted several j&#257g&#299rs by the Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 who also secured him at his request his ancestral village, Mau&#7771, in 1819. Dhann&#257 Si&#7749gh died in May 1843.
