According to local tradition, the Gur&#363, on his way back from P&#257o&#7751&#7789&#257 to Anandpur in November 1688 decided to encamp on this site. He was told by the villagers that the nearest source of water was the stream Sukhn&#257 which was 2 km away. At this the Gur&#363 pierced the ground with his spear and caused water to trickle forth and form a pool. A shrine was established later on the bank of this pool and the original spring was converted into a well. In 1979-80, the Gurdw&#257r&#257 was handed over by the Shiroma&#7751&#299 Gurdw&#257r&#257 Parbandhak Committee to the followers of Sant B&#257b&#257 J&#299van Si&#7749gh for reconstruction.
