Local tradition connects this Gurdw&#257r&#257 with the story of the conversion by Gur&#363 N&#257nak of Bh&#257&#299 Jha&#7751&#7693&#257 B&#257&#7693h&#299, R&#257j&#257 Sudhar Sen and his nephew, Indra Sen. The story occurs briefly in the B40 Janam-S&#257kh&#299 and at some length in the B&#257l&#257 Janam S&#257kh&#299. Gurdw&#257r&#257 Sikh Temple is situated in the middle of Chowk B&#257z&#257r. An old well adjoining it is still in use. There is some property in the name of the Gurdw&#257r&#257 donated to it by Bh&#257&#299 Mohan Si&#7749gh, a Sikh who was D&#299w&#257n of Chi&#7789&#7789&#257go&#7749g during the rule of Naw&#257b 'Al&#299 Vard&#299 Kh&#257n (d. 1756). The Gurdw&#257r&#257 was administered by a line of Ud&#257s&#299 priests until 1917 when the management was entrusted to a committee of local devotees under the chairmanship of the district judge of Chi&#7789&#7789&#257go&#7749g. This arrangement still continues.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Kohl&#299, Surindar Si&#7749gh, ed. , Janam S&#257kh&#299 Bh&#257&#299 B&#257l&#257.
