The former passed through Ch&#299k&#257 at the time of his visit to Kurukshetra in 1638. Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur arrived here from Sam&#257&#7751&#257 <i>en route</i> to Delhi, in 1675, and stayed here for two days with Bh&#257&#299 Glaur&#257, the <i>masand</i> of the B&#257&#7749gar area extending up to H&#257&#7749s&#299 and Hiss&#257r. A low platform in a room on the first floor of an old house in the northeastern part of the village commemorated the visits of the holy Gur&#363s. The place was taken over by the successors of Sant Gurmukh Si&#7749gh during late 1970's for reconstruction. The new Gurdw&#257r&#257 Chhev&#299&#7749 <i>ate</i> Nauvi&#7749 P&#257tsh&#257h&#299 has a large <i>d&#299v&#257n</i> hall supported by twenty octagonal concrete pillars. Another complex in a compound close by comprises Gur&#363 k&#257 La&#7749gar and rooms for pilgrims.
