He broke journey at Chho&#7789&#257 Mirz&#257pur while travelling as a child from Pa&#7789n&#257, his birthplace, to the Punjab. A Sikh <i>sa&#7749gat</i> developed here in course of time. The present Gurdw&#257r&#257 constructed recently on the site of an older one is, however, named Gurdw&#257r&#257 Sr&#299 Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur, Navam&#299 P&#257tsh&#257h&#299, perhaps because at the time of his visit, Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh had not yet been anointed Gur&#363 and the party travelling was only remembered as the family of the Ninth Gur&#363, Gur&#363 Te<u>gh</u> Bah&#257dur.
