Once he, along with Bh&#257&#299 Phirn&#257 and Bh&#257&#299 Je&#7789h&#257 of the same clan, waited on Gur&#363 Arjan. They had a question: "Some repeat the name of R&#257ma, others of K&#7771&#7779&#7751a, some repeat Om, others Soham. We have been taught to meditate on V&#257higur&#363. Tell us, True King, which name is the most efficacious?" The Gur&#363, says Bh&#257&#299 Man&#299 Si&#7749gh, <i>Sikh&#257&#7749 d&#299 Bhagat M&#257l&#257</i>, replied, "Any boat would take one across a river, but one should stick to the boat one has boarded. All names of God lead to liberation. For Sikhs the name revealed by Gur&#363 N&#257nak is V&#257higur&#363.
