The town was seized from the Af<u>gh</u>&#257n governor, Zain <u>Kh</u>&#257n, who was killed in the action. Since none of the participating <i>sard&#257rs</i> was willing to accept possession of the town of Sirhind accurst from its association with the execution of Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh's two younger sons, it was assigned to Bu&#7693&#7693h&#257 Si&#7749gh by a unanimous vote. Along with the lands of Sirhind, Buddh&#257 Si&#7749gh got a camel-swivel and 150 matchlocks. Sirhind was, however, later purchased from him by B&#257b&#257 &#256l&#257 Si&#7749gh of Pa&#7789i&#257l&#257. Returning to his headquarters at Jhumb&#257, in Muktsar <i>tahs&#299l</i>, Bu&#7693&#7693h&#257 Si&#7749gh took possession of 28 villages around Abohar.
