He had his education at Aitchison College, Lahore. A council of regency headed by Sard&#257r Bah&#257dur Dy&#257l Si&#7749gh M&#257n was appointed during his minority to carry on the administration. Brijindar Si&#7749gh earned the title of Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 by the help he gave the British during the First World War (1914-19). The last of the four volumes of the first ever commentary on the Gur&#363 Granth S&#257hib prepared under the aegis of the royal house of Far&#299dko&#7789 and popularly known as <i>Far&#299dko&#7789 &#7788&#299k&#257</i> was published during his time. As the first edition of the work ran out, he ordered a reprint to be brought out.</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Brijindar Si&#7749gh died on 22 December 1918.
