As Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh himself relates in his <i>Bachitra N&#257&#7789ak</i>, the <u>Kh</u>&#257nz&#257d&#257 had planned to surprise the Sikhs with a night attack, but finding the defendants alert he beat a hasty retreat. "Ravaging Barv&#257 village (on his way back), " records Gur&#363 Gobind Si&#7749gh, "he made a halt at Bhal&#257n. " The shrine rebuilt by the local <i>sa&#7749gat</i> in 1960 is called Gurdw&#257r&#257 Dashmeshga&#7771h (lit. Fort of the Tenth Master). It is a small square sanctum with a circumambulatory verandah around it.
