Gur&#363 Hargobind, N&#257nak VI, stayed at B&#257r&#257m&#363l&#257 for a few days during his visit to the valley in 1621. A memorial platform was later constructed on the site by devotees. A <i>gurdw&#257r&#257</i>, originally named Ko&#7789 T&#299rath but now known as Gurdw&#257r&#257 Chhev&#299&#7749 P&#257tsh&#257h&#299, was established during the reign of Mah&#257r&#257j&#257 Ra&#7751j&#299t Si&#7749gh. Its building was badly damaged by an earthquake in 1885. The present building, a marble-floored domed hall was constructed about 1905. A new double-storeyed hall was erected later under the supervision of B&#257b&#257 Harba&#7749s Si&#7749gh K&#257r Sev&#257v&#257le.
