Gur&#363 Tegh Bah&#257dur visited this place twice. On his first visit, he came from Kurukshetra, via Mun&#299arpur and &#7692u&#7693h&#299. He gave a bagful of money (badr&#257, in old Punjabi) to the headman, R&#257m Bakhsh, for the construction of a well for use by the villagers. The latter, however, misappropriated the amount. On his second visit, the Gur&#363 had the well dug under his own supervision. Platforms were constructed on sites sanctified by the Gur&#363 on the two occasions. Over the one, situated between the two villages, the construction of a shrine known as Gurdw&#257r&#257 Gur&#363 Tegh Bah&#257dur was started by Sard&#257r Baghel Si&#7749gh of Chhalaud&#299, a minor Sikh principality about 3 km from Ban&#299 Badarpur. It was completed by his widow. A platform also existed inside Badarpur village. A room over it has been constructed recently.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

T&#257r&#257 Si&#7749gh, Sr&#299 Gur T&#299rath Sa&#7749grahi.
