Once the Gur&#363 visited Q&#257d&#299vi&#7751&#7693 at his request and, pleased at his devotion, promised him any boon he might ask of him. Bh&#257&#299 Bahilol spoke humbly : "Nothing is permanent in this world, Lord ! Grant me therefore the only boon worth asking for, that is, I may always remember God's Name. " The Gur&#363 gave him his blessing. The memorial <i>gurdw&#257r&#257</i> dedicated to Gur&#363 Amar D&#257s and constructed on the land donated by Bh&#257&#299 Bahilol was looked after by a line of Ud&#257s&#299 priests until the partition of the Punjab in 1947.
