As a young boy he was deeply affected by events at Nank&#257&#7751&#257 S&#257hib in 1921 (See NANK&#256&#7750&#256 S&#256HIB MASSACRE). Closing down his business he joined the Ak&#257l&#299 ranks. He participated in the Gur&#363 k&#257 B&#257<u>gh</u> and Jaito agitations : he officiated as one of the Pañj Pi&#257re when the <i>jath&#257</i> left for Jaito on Bais&#257kh 1, 1981, Bk/12 April 1924. His health deteriorated while he was in police custody and he died on 26 November 1924.</p> <p class="C1">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bh&#257&#299 Arjan Si&#7749gh was tall and handsome and led a pious life. He used to compose verses, and one of his poems, "Naukarsh&#257h&#299 n&#363&#7749 Chailañj" or Challenge to Bureaucracy, was included in an anthology entitled <i>Shah&#299d&#299 <u>Kh</u>&#363n</i>.
